exit strategy and career transition coaching

Leaving a role is inevitable. How you do it makes all the difference.

Everyone talks about how to land the next role. Almost no one teaches you how to leave the current one. Yet exits - planned or unexpected - are a reality every professional will face.

Today’s careers aren’t “jobs for life.” Research shows most of us will have 5–7 careers over our life. The real question isn’t if you’ll leave, but how.

Whether you’re choosing to move on or facing change you didn’t expect, an exit can either derail your confidence - or become the launchpad for what’s next.

Why work with elan coaching?

With 20+ years of People & Culture leadership, I’ve sat on both sides of the table: advising organisations on exits and navigating my own career transitions. I know the legal, commercial and human sides of leaving.

Through one-to-one coaching, I’ll help you:

  • Understand your rights and entitlements

  • Negotiate fair, commercially sound terms

  • Craft a confident narrative for your next move

This isn’t just for executives or those who can afford to pay lawyers for every 7 minutes of their time. Exit coaching makes the process clearer, calmer and more strategic - so you leave professionally, protect your reputation and position yourself for what’s next.

Guiding you through career transitions

My Experience on Both Sides of the Table

With over 20 years in global People & Culture leadership, business transformation and organisational design, I’ve been involved in hundreds of change programs, restructures, executive exits and career transitions.

And I haven’t just advised - I’ve lived it.

I’ve volunteered for redundancy, had my role restructured during the GFC and chosen to “make myself redundant” to move on my own terms. Those decisions allowed me to secure financial stability, protect my reputation and even enjoy periods of “funemployment” while planning the next move.

This isn’t theory. It’s tested, lived experience.
